We had our Ultrasound yesterday. It's called an anatomy ultrasound to take measurements and make sure everything that is supposed to be there is there and if you want to find out the gender this is the time to do it. Even if we wanted to find out the gender, we were not able to. The baby was moving constantly and was already having a tough time getting into position to take the head circumference and other measurements, so determining the gender would have been very difficult. I don't remember my ultrasound with Charlotte taking this long at all. This one took 45 minutes, at least. It was certainly fun to look at the baby but staying in the same position for that long can make it a bit uncomfortable, but of course it was all worth it.
Suffice it to say, the baby is doing just perfect and measuring right on target for everything. According to the measurements the baby is 14 oz. and is at the gestational size of 20 weeks and 6 days (and I, according to my due date am 20 weeks 6 days).
We are very excited for March to arrive and can't wait for Charlotte to be a big sister. Not that she understands much what is going on. When we try to get her to give the baby a kiss or say hi or even look at my tummy she wants nothing do with, well, almost all of the time. Sometimes she'll want to give my tummy a kiss but most times she says a quick "no" and pulls my shirt over my tummy. I think once the baby arrives she'll be much more excited but honestly, I do think there will be some jealousy there so I'll have to make sure to give her lots of extra love and attention.
I will post my ultrasound pics (I only have 3) later today, but I thought I would update all on the status of the new baby-to-be.
Well, we are off to St. Thomas University's homecoming to see a lot of Kevin's friends from college and possibly go to the parade and the fundraiser event, and of course, no visit to St. Thomas would be complete without an homage to Plums, so we'll head out there too.
We'll let you know how it goes.
