New Baby Bellmont

We had our Ultrasound yesterday. It's called an anatomy ultrasound to take measurements and make sure everything that is supposed to be there is there and if you want to find out the gender this is the time to do it. Even if we wanted to find out the gender, we were not able to. The baby was moving constantly and was already having a tough time getting into position to take the head circumference and other measurements, so determining the gender would have been very difficult. I don't remember my ultrasound with Charlotte taking this long at all. This one took 45 minutes, at least. It was certainly fun to look at the baby but staying in the same position for that long can make it a bit uncomfortable, but of course it was all worth it.
Suffice it to say, the baby is doing just perfect and measuring right on target for everything. According to the measurements the baby is 14 oz. and is at the gestational size of 20 weeks and 6 days (and I, according to my due date am 20 weeks 6 days).
We are very excited for March to arrive and can't wait for Charlotte to be a big sister. Not that she understands much what is going on. When we try to get her to give the baby a kiss or say hi or even look at my tummy she wants nothing do with, well, almost all of the time. Sometimes she'll want to give my tummy a kiss but most times she says a quick "no" and pulls my shirt over my tummy. I think once the baby arrives she'll be much more excited but honestly, I do think there will be some jealousy there so I'll have to make sure to give her lots of extra love and attention.
I will post my ultrasound pics (I only have 3) later today, but I thought I would update all on the status of the new baby-to-be.
Well, we are off to St. Thomas University's homecoming to see a lot of Kevin's friends from college and possibly go to the parade and the fundraiser event, and of course, no visit to St. Thomas would be complete without an homage to Plums, so we'll head out there too.
We'll let you know how it goes.

Halloween 2008

We really enjoyed the Halloween season this year. Charlotte enjoyed saying Happy Halloween and loved her Halloween socks. We headed out to Byerly's in Edina on Thursday to their annual Halloween Trick or Treating. We couldn't believe how much candy and goodies Charlotte got. I have to admit that I got some treats as well....like the traditional Diet Coke most kids want to get in their bag every year. Well, they were handing out soda and obviously Charlotte isn't at the soda level yet but instead of telling them that I told them she would prefer a Diet Coke.

So, as you can see from the pictures. Charlotte was dressed as the Little Orphan Annie and the look turned out more perfect than I thought it would. My mom graciously made the costume and of course Charlotte's dimples and red, tight curly hair truly made the costume a perfect fit for her. She really loved being in the dress, but more importantly she loved spending time with her cousins who were all dressed in their creative costumes too.

We ended up having a Halloween party and were so lucky to see a lot of family there. Of course we had the famous Orange and Black ham sandwiches my mom always makes. Her Beer Cheese Soup was a hit too. After a long and fun evening we were all in bed by 11:30p.m. and exhausted. I have to say, even though I let Charlotte have some fun and eat more than enough sugar on Halloween, she was out when she went to bed and slept through the night until 8:00a.m. It was really nice to sleep in. I wonder when that will happen again?

I suppose I should publicly update people on the new baby Bellmont to be. So far we are 5 months pregnant. The due date for the new little one is March 22nd and it can't come fast enough. Some days I feel like this pregnancy is going by quickly and other days I'm thinking....you're kidding, right?......March....that's going to take forever!

We have our anatomy Ultrasound on Friday. This is where you can find out the gender of your baby if you wish but Kevin and I are going to wait again. It's much harder this time to wait, at least I think so, but I will tell you it was all worth the wait when Charlotte arrived as a big surprise....considering I thought I would never get a girl! I'm sure the appointment will go well on Friday but I will post Ultrasound pics. for all to see....and you can all determine for yourselves what gender you think it is.

Well...we are off to get Charlotte her flu shot. It should be fun....well at least Charlotte will get a treat afterwards. Maybe if I persuade my husband this way and promise him a treat afterwards he'll get a flu shot this year too, but it's highly unlikely.

Everyone enjoy their weeks and GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!!!!!!
