Settling In...Check out new slideshow.

We survived our first couple weeks with a new infant and a toddler. While the first week was honestly difficult we have finally caught up on sleep and Charlotte is now adjusting well to a new baby in the house. In the beginning Charlotte was really testing our patience and she was certainly seeking attention but now she is handling the change great. Maggie looks just like Charlotte did when she was born, albeit a little smaller. In fact I was rather shocked that Maggie was so small, only weighing 7lbs. 4 oz., considering I ansall of my siblings as well as Kevin and his siblings were over 9lbs. each....at least I think that's right. Maggie pretty much does what any infant does, eat, sleep and poop and then she does it all over again. And for a tiny little girl she sure eats a lot, in fact, a lot more than Charlotte did. Maggie loves to open her eyes wide and look at things and try to grab the air with her hands. We just had her 2 week visit to the doctor's and everything is perfect. In fact, her head control is pretty good, as was Charlotte's so hopefully she'll enjoy some tummy time soon.
We went to the zoo today, which was an adventure. Apparently they must have been handing something out free because everyone and their mother (literally) was there. It was way too hectic and crowded for my taste so we only stayed an hour.
Tonight Kevin and I are going to actually go out on a date for the first time in I don't know how long. Even after Charlotte was born we only went out by ourselves just a couple of times. This time around though I'm not so nervous. I don't know what we're going to do but I'm pretty sure drinks will be a part of it.
Kevin begins his new schedule in investigations soon. So, come May 4th, my husband will actually have a normal schedule. It actually works out perfect for this summer because we will be heading up to the cabin a lot now that we'll both have the weekends free. I'll be working Tues.-Thurs. evenings, just enough time to get away with adults but not too much time away from the girls. My first day back is next Thursday, April 9th and I am actually pretty excited! I noticed this time around that I bounced back mush quicker. I think that has a lot to do with good pain management though. So, for those of you who plan on having any or more kids, don't hesitate to ask your doctor for some good pain medication because had I done that with Charlotte I would have recovered much quicker.
As the weather gets warmer I'm sure we'll have some cute pictures of the girls. I have to say, I'm actually pretty excited for Easter because Charlotte and Maggie will be wearing matching dresses. I know that sounds corny and silly but I always imagined having little girls growing up together, wearing matching outfits. I just can't believe that we have two girls, especially with those Bellmont genes.
